Breaking News! TerraLoupe and Hawa Dawa win the #NMWLab17 startup competition during the IAA – Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung #NMWLab17 is incubation hub and the network of Startups, automotive groups, investors and experts at the biggest Automotive Show @IAA – Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung @TerraLoupe and Hawa Dawa win the first startup competition of the incubation hub #NMWLab17 at #IAA. At the FORUM Main Stage of the New Mobility World, TerraLoupe competed in the category “Seniors” (from Series A), Hawa Dawa in the category “Freshmen” (until Seed) against four other companies. The #VDA had initiated the competition within the framework of the New Mobility World together with Startup Sesame Mobility. More than 150 start-ups from 24 countries had taken part. THANK YOU!!!

First prize: J.J.Darboven IDEE Award 2017

Drums, please! Ta-Ta-da-dadaaaaa! TerraLoupe is the Winner of J.J.Darboven IDEE Award 2017!!!! Since 1997, the Hamburg coffee roaster Albert Darboven has awarded the J.J.Darboven IDEE Award. The award is the only national award for innovative ideas for start-ups of women. They were looking for sustainable and promising business concepts from all sectors of the economy, and we proved again that TerraLoupe is the future! Thank you to the J.J.Darboven jury for their support of Women Entrepreneurship and recognition of our talent and potential. The founder’s conclusion after 20 years: “I am always enthusiastic about the high entrepreneurial potential of women, which still receives too little support.” By awarding the prestigious prize, Albert Darboven wants to send out a message and encourage women, to go the way into entrepreneurial independence. Magna Announces Winners of Driving the Future of Mobility Challenge

What a great start into the new year! TerraLoupe won the first prize in Magna International’s Startup Challenge “Driving the Future of Mobility – Autonomy”. Magna International initiated the competition in cooperation with StartUs Insights. They were looking for Startups and innovators with new solutions shaping the transportation industry. Disruptive technologies were awarded in the categories “Autonomy”, “Connected Car”, “Mobility as a Service” and “Mobility Solutions”. Prizes were given as part of the Mentorship Event at Magna International in Munich. It was an exciting day with a lot of inspiring Startup pitches, knowledge exchanges and new insights. We thank Magna International for hosting the special event. TerraLoupe feels honoured to be supporting by this leading automotive supplier to foster our technology. TerraLoupe with new funding

Landshut/München, 07. April 2017. Das Münchener Startup TerraLoupe eröffnet Kunden durch eine intelligente Analyse von Luftbilddaten die Möglichkeit einer deutlich kostengünstigeren Datenbeschaffung bzw. die Erschließung einer Vielzahl neuer Anwendungsmöglichkeiten. Die Technologie des Unternehmens setzt auf künstliche Intelligenz und erlaubt so die effiziente, hochautomatisierte Erstellung von digitalem Kartenmaterial oder entsprechenden Umgebungsinformationen. TerraLoupe schloss jetzt unter Beteiligung der Bayern Kapital und weiterer Privatinvestoren erfolgreich seine zweite Finanzierungsrunde im siebenstelligen Bereich ab.

In der Umwelt sehen Dinge nie gleich aus – daher können technische Algorithmen mit digitalen Kartendiensten wie Google Maps bisher nur begrenzt arbeiten. TerraLoupe entwickelt neuronale Netze, um aus gewöhnlichen Luftbildern intelligente digitale Informationen von Objekten zu gewinnen. Wie Kinder lernen die neuronalen Netze, wie sich zum Beispiel Ampeln von Straßenschildern oder Fenster von Solaranlagen unterscheiden. Sensitive Daten werden dabei anonymisiert – Menschen zum Beispiel sind nicht zu erkennen. Damit wird es erstmals möglich, Objekte und Infrastrukturen flächendeckend zu erkennen und zu verarbeiten. TerraLoupe kann beispielsweise Straßennetze genauestens erfassen. Die Informationen sind auf wenige Zentimeter so exakt, dass damit ausgestattete selbstfahrende Autos in der Lage wären auf ihre Umwelt zu reagieren.

„Die automatisierte Analyse der Umwelt mittels Luftbildaufnahmen stellt die nächste Evolutionsstufe im Geodaten-Markt dar“, erläutert Bayern-Kapital-Geschäftsführer Roman Huber. „Manuelle Prozesse können so durch maschinelle Verfahren kostengünstig ersetzt werden bzw. ermöglichen nun erst auch gänzlich neue Geschäftsfelder und -modelle in verschiedenen Branchen. Dieses enorme Wachstumspotenzial hat die Investoren überzeugt. „Wir freuen uns über den Erfolg von TerraLoupe. Das Team hat mit der aktuellen Finanzierungsrunde einen Meilenstein geschafft und kann sich weiter auf sein Wachstum konzentrieren“, sagt Dr. Carsten Rudolph, Geschäftsführer von BayStartUP.

„Eine genaue Kenntnis von Infrastrukturen ist nicht nur für Automobilhersteller, sondern auch für andere Branchen wie Energie und Versicherungen interessant”, erklärt TerraLoupe Geschäftsführerin Manuela Rasthofer. „Das siebenstellige Investment werden wir für die Weiterentwicklung und den Launch unserer Produktplattform, den Ausbau des Vertriebs und zur Internationalisierung nutzen.“
